Getting Aligned on Lower Limb Prosthetic Alignment

Multiple resources exist to help guide lower limb prosthetic alignment, yet much of the information is dated, confusing, or conflicting, leaving prosthetists with the task of sorting out what is right from what is left. Our team will share available information and experience to guide prosthetic alignment in this interactive session to de-mystify this critical aspect of prosthetic care .

Learning Objectives:

  • Review alignment principles from available published evidence and education program content.
  • Describe sources of disagreement and how foundational principles reveal why these differences exist.
  • Discuss and describe the many patient and component factors that affect alignment in practice.
  • Describe approaches for achieving appropriate alignment for individual patients accurately and efficiently.
