Competency and scope of practice documents are useful in supporting development of O&P curricula but fail to reflect the complexity of knowledge required in clinical practice. In this study the authors analyzed body-cam footage from experienced CPOs to identify core concepts and principles used in the clinical environment.

Describe core concepts used by experienced COPs in the clinical setting.
Describe principles of practice used for experienced clinicians to make sense of situations they encounter in the clinical setting.
Reflect on the alignment between concepts listed in O&P education standards and those applied by clinicians in practice.
