This presentation will go through the following, explaining challenges and solutions to obtaining successful outcomes.

Transfemoral socket shape has a major impact on successful outcomes. The expected successful outcome for the user is sitting comfort and proper sitting alignment which leads to upper body anatomical correct balance and posture while sitting and comfortably walking with good balance and confidence.

Socket shape and configuration has a major impact on the correct anatomical alignment of the components and how they are positioned, if they are positioned and proportioned correctly for sitting, they will be more likely to function well during ambulating and provide increased overall comfort and stability.

The residual limb shape and tissue density play a major role in the socket selection process, an understanding of how to manage tissue is critical for a successful outcome.
