This qualitative study explored how people with unilateral transfemoral amputations chooe between different adjustable-volume prosthetic sockets, revealing that those with frequent limb-volume changes valued adjustability for maintaining comfort and fit, while those with stable limb volume prioritized factors like appearance, bulk, and weight instead. These findings highlight the importance of aligning socket prescriptions with each patient’s specific functional needs and aesthetic preferences.
