It is standard practice to obtain an in-brace X-ray at some time point after brace fitting to evaluate the amount of in-brace correction (IBC) achieved during brace treatment for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). The ideal timing for this X-ray is unknown. This study investigated the differences of IBC, brace adherence, curve magnitude changes, and quality-of-life (QOL) changes between patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) who receive an in-brace X-ray the same day as brace delivery versus AIS patients who receive a 1-month delay prior to receiving an INB X-ray.
