The incidence of infant head shape deformities has risen since the 1992 Back to Sleep campaign. Clinically, families of infants with moderate to severe deformities frequently ask whether repositioning or physical therapy alone will lead to meaningful improvement. This retrospective chart review quantified changes in head shape prior to any cranial remolding orthosis (CRO) intervention. Only minimal improvement was observed over time, supporting the rationale for timely CRO treatment.
