This poster presents a pilot randomized crossover study evaluating the feasibility of comparing a prefabricated carbon fiber ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) with and without a sensorimotor foot orthosis (SMFO). Using step count monitoring, clinical assessments, and ecological momentary surveys, the protocol provides detailed insights into mobility, balance, comfort, and device use. Early findings show that the study design is practical, well tolerated, and capable of generating meaningful data to inform a larger trial and support evidence-based orthotic prescription.
