This study explores gender differences in self-esteem and quality of life among individuals with lower limb amputation in Iran. Using mediation analysis, it reveals that women experience significantly lower self-esteem, which in turn impacts their psychological well-being and overall life satisfaction. The findings highlight the critical need for gender-sensitive rehabilitation strategies that address educational access, social support, and mental health to improve outcomes for female amputees.
