Juan Cave II, MSPO, CPO, FAAOP is a Certified Prosthetist-Orthotist and a fellow of the American Academy of Prosthetics and Orthotics. He is currently an Advanced Research Prosthetist-Orthotist and clinical morion analysis laboratory supervisor with the Rehabilitation & Engineering Center for Optimizing Veteran Engagement & Reintegration (RECOVER). Juan has a Biomedical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Masters Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Juan has over Ten years of clinical experience with direct patient care, three years of Prosthetic-Orthotic Technician experience, four years of Prosthetic-Orthotic research experience, and over five years of experience running a non-profit for persons with disabilities. His career interests are focused on helping patients who do not believe that they would walk again return to an active life. Juan enjoys helping this challenging to fit and low motivation population maximize their walking abilities and outcomes. In his current role as a researcher, it is his mission to find cost-effective, reasonably designed, and functional devices to help the prosthetic and orthotics field move forward, so that more prosthetists and orthotist have success restoring mobility to this population.
