Séamus Kennedy is a co-owner of Hersco Ortho Labs in New York, along with his brother, Cathal. He has moderated the "Foot and Ankle Biomechanics and Pedorthics Program" at the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists Annual Meeting since 2011, and holds the title of Associate Fellow of the Academy.
Séamus has made significant contributions to the field of pedorthics and foot and lower-limb biomechanics through his numerous authored articles, book chapters and interviews. He frequently speaks on the manufacturing and fitting of custom shoes and orthotics and is often consulted by OP&P practitioners and physicians for complex cases. Additionally, he serves on the O&P EDGE Editorial Advisory Board and is a member of PFA’s Pedorthic Education Committee.
Under the leadership of Séamus and his brother, Hersco has expanded into a comprehensive central fabrication facility, producing orthotics, ankle gauntlets, and AFOs, and has become a Richie Brace partner. They focus on advancing 3D printing applications for functional foot orthotics through iOrthotics, a joint venture company.
