Theresa Berner, MOT, OTR/L, ATP is an accomplished occupational therapist and the Rehabilitation Clinical Manager at The Ohio State University Medical Center. With over 31 years of specialized experience in Seating and Positioning and Adult Neuro Rehabilitation, she is a nationally recognized leader in the field of assistive technology and rehabilitation sciences.
Certified by RESNA as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), Ms. Berner oversees both the Assistive Technology Center and the Adaptive Sports Institute at OSU, driving innovation and excellence in patient care and community engagement. In addition to her clinical leadership, she serves as a clinical instructor at the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, where she mentors future healthcare professionals.
Ms. Berner is an active member of the Clinician Task Force as well as on the Executive Committee for this group. She also serves on the Board of Directors for United Spinal Association, contributing to national policy and advocacy efforts. Her commitment to advancing the field is reflected in her participation in numerous research studies through the School of Allied Health and Rehabilitation, as well as her frequent presentations at national and international conferences.
Her distinguished career has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the 2016 Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals TLC Distinguished Clinical Award, the 2017 OSU Medical Center Values in Action Award, and the 2022 RESNA Samuel McFarland Memorial Mentorship Award. Theresa is the regional manager for Greater Ohio Amputee Soccer which is a member of the American Amputee Association.
