Duffy Felmlee brings extensive experience in prosthetics and orthotics to his role as Associate Professor for the Prosthetics and Orthotics Program at the University of Hartford. He received his Masters of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Hartford in 2010 and became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists with Distinction in 2023. Duffy is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Kinesiology at the University of Connecticut. At the University of Hartford, Duffy serves as an orthotic and research instructor, Director of the Adult Balance Lab, Technical Director of the MSPO Lab, and Associate Program Director. His research explores functional rehabilitation for veterans, including submerged swimming prostheses and microprocessor knees to prevent falls. Duffy is deeply involved with global non-profits, having served on teams for Dreaming and Working Together in Peru and LimbKind Foundation internationally. Duffy serves on the O&P Foundation Board of Directors in the role of Chair of the Education Committee. Additionally, he participates in leadership activities within the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, including the Board of Directors, Research Council, Fabrication Sciences Society, Online Education Committee, and iQ Advisory Board. The Academy recognized Duffy as Educator of the Year in 2020.
