Ben Hogan is a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist working at Mary Free Bed Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. His interest in prosthetic applications abroad, specifically in resource-limited regions, has drawn him to investigate the feasibility of alternative prosthetic designs. With a background in bicycle mechanics, he has utilized the bicycle for a new application in human ambulation.

Project Bike Leg was born from this fascination and has evolved into an ongoing endeavor to yield a durable, adjustable, lightweight, and functonal below knee prosthesis crafted from locally sourced material. Ben hopes that an open-sourced bike leg creation guide will be available to those in need to allow for local craftsmen to effectively address the lack of prosthetic access faced by millions worldwide.
