Program Management Specialist
IU School of Medicine, Supportive Oncology
My research interests are in pediatric cancer survivorship issues, specifically bone cancer, and developing tools with patients and providers for shared decision-making goals. I have both personal and professional expertise in patient self-advocacy and have been a surrogate decision maker for my daughter who is a survivor of pediatric bone cancer and an above knee amputee. I am the principal investigator in the development of a patient decision aid for surgery of malignant tumors in the lower extremity. www.osteosarcomadecisionaid.com To date, this decision aid has over 5600 site visits in 83 different countries. I am currently developing a set of discussion cards to be used to communicate surgical options at diagnosis. Patients, parents, and orthopedic oncologists have been involved in all phases of these tools using a multi-phase co-design developmental model. I released the Rotationplasty Patient-Powered Registry in 2026 for adult patients with rotationplasty and for parents of children under 18 with rotationplasty. I consider myself to be a rotationplasty advocate and look forward to meeting prosthetists at AAOP who either have specialized training in rotationplasty or are interested in learning more about building prosthetics for their patients with rotationplasty.
