Matthew Garibaldi serves as a Clinical Professor and Director of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers at the University of California, San Francisco. Following a twenty-five-year clinical career, Matthew has played a key role in developing the Osseointegration program at UCSF and is the first prosthetist in the United States to treat patients using the transfemoral percutaneous osseointegration OPRA implant system. His research focuses on validation of prosthetic assessment tools, patient preference surveys for regulatory purposes, and quality of life outcomes research for experimental prosthetic technology. Matthew is the past president of the California Orthotic and Prosthetic Association and currently serves on the board of directors for the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. He is the creator of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Innovative Technologies conference, is a founding member of the Academy’s Hospital-Based O&P Practice Committee, and the Co-Chair of the Academy’s Bone-Anchored Society.
