Brooke Wetherill is a Master’s student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan, where she conducts research in the Rehabilitation Biomechanics Laboratory focusing on balance control and prosthetic biomechanics in individuals with transfemoral amputation. Her work centers on understanding how prosthetic socket design influences postural stability, muscle activation, and functional mobility. Brooke also has experience in medical device R&D through her role as an Engineering Intern at Danmar Products and her project management work in the Michigan Surgical Innovation Accelerator. Her broader interests include clinical innovation, human movement science, and the development of technologies that enhance mobility and quality of life for individuals with limb loss.
