Jan Karel Petric, Ph.D., CPO is an Assistant Professor in the Prosthetics-Orthotics Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he contributes as an educator, researcher, and certified clinical Prosthetist-Orthotist. A graduate of UT Southwestern’s MPO program, he completed his clinical residency there before joining the faculty. Dr. Petric brings a combined academic and clinical perspective to his work, supporting the development of future practitioners while advancing high-quality patient care.
His research interest focuses on biomechanical and physiological responses to different prosthetic and orthotic device prescriptions and componentry selections, with the aim of optimizing function, comfort, and long-term health for individuals who rely on these technologies. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and clinically informed inquiry, Dr. Petric aims to strengthen evidence-based practice within prosthetics and orthotics. In his clinical role at UT Southwestern’s Prosthetics-Orthotics Clinic, he provides comprehensive care and integrates emerging research to enhance mobility and long-term patient outcomes.
