Katie is a Ph.D. student in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She earned her master’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in biomechanics from Iowa State University and her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Southwestern University. Her research focuses on biomechanics, functional movement, and falls as a learnable skill to improve balance and mobility in individuals with lower limb loss. She serves as a research assistant in the Human Capability Laboratory at UNLV, contributing to studies aimed at enhancing skills and confidence for people with limb loss.
