Katie Bomhoff is a third-year student and full-time resident in the Baylor College of Medicine Orthotics and Prosthetics Program. She has completed clinical rotations at Scott Sabolich Ottobock.care in Oklahoma City, OK; Metro Prosthetics, Inc. in Baltimore, MD; UT Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, TX; Shriners Children's in Honolulu, HI; and Van Der Watt Prosthetics and Orthotics in Greenwood, AR. She received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.) from Johns Hopkins University in May 2023 and is currently working toward her master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics (M.S.), with an estimated graduation date in December 2025. Her master’s thesis focuses on interprofessional collaboration in healthcare, with research concentrated on terminology, methods, and resources used by different fields in rehabilitation healthcare. Katie has also completed novel research about upper limb prosthesis design, 3D printing, and integration of haptic feedback (vibration, pressure response, etc.) into prosthetic sockets.
