Benjamin Sanders completed a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Philosophy, and Chemistry at the College of William and Mary and a Masters of Engineering degree in Materials Science at the University of California, Berkeley. He is an accomplished theatre performer, dancer, and film actor. He used his expertise in intellectual property and entrepreneurship in work with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, helping research teams develop commercialization plans to translate research innovations to products. As a material scientist he consulted with a startup by providing engineering research focused on developing an air contactor for enhancing a direct carbon capture system. His prosthetics and orthotics research accomplishments include developing liner targets to monitor limb motion and creating innovative computational methods to analyze data from an array of sensors to improve the quality of life of people with lower limb disability.
