Jason Wilken PT, PhD is an Associate Professor and Director of Collaborative Research and Development in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at the University of Iowa. He also serves as the Director of the Human Performance and Clinical Outcomes laboratory. Prior to joining the University of Iowa, he was the founding Director of the Military Performance Laboratory at the Center for the Intrepid at Brooke Army Medical Center and Senior Scientist for the Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence. His patient centric research is focused on maximizing function after lower limb injury or disease. His research includes the development and evaluation of advanced prosthetic and orthotic technologies, virtual reality-based interventions, clinically relevant outcomes assessment, and development of novel approaches to enhance walking stability. His current research includes multi-site clinical trials to inform orthotic care and the development of novel approaches to optimize treatment and prevention of ankle arthritis.
