Katie Johnson, CPO/L, MS, Hanger Clinic, earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical and biomedical engineering from Tufts University and a master's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of California-Davis. She completed her O&P education at Northwestern University, her residencies at the University of Michigan and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and a year fellowship at the University of Michigan.
Katie taught Upper Extremity Prosthetics at Eastern Michigan University and was a residency mentor for five years. She authored seven peer-reviewed papers, six book chapters, an article for the Academy TODAY publication, and she has frequently presented at the Academy Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium over the past 15 years.
Her volunteer work includes four trips with the Range of Motion Project in Central and South America, serving as Chair of the Academy's Women in O&P Committee, and leading the Academy's Literature Update Working Group. Since 2020, Katie has served on the Clinical Content Committee for the Annual Academy Meeting and on the Collaborative on Inclusive Action and Engagement. She is also a member of the Academy's Upper and Lower Limb Scientific Societies.
