Initiated to address the estimated 90% of amputees worldwide who lack access to proper prosthetic care, project bike leg aims to disrupt this statistic by offering an open-sourced schema for creating a functional and adjustable below knee prosthesis using on-hand materials. Relying on fundamental concepts of prosthetic science, project bike leg attempts to democratize the process of creating and of obtaining a functional prosthesis using minimal tools and materials in resource-stricken regions. This course will provide an overview of the process and will give further insights into the particulars of creating a sound prosthesis from a bicycle frame.
