MS Prosthetics and Orthotics Student Alabama State University Alabama State University Riverview, Florida, United States
This study explored orthotists perspectives about Dynamic Movement Orthoses (DMO) usage in the Hypermobile Spectrum Disorder (HSD)/Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos (hEDS) population. After conducting semi-structured interviews and a thematic analysis, results revealed general attitudes about DMOs and their outcomes. While there were limitations in obtaining information pertaining to the HSD/hEDS population specifically, utilizing a translational approach revealed a promising treatment option for a population with low treatment efficacy.
