This study evaluates the clinical outcomes of the Intrepid Dynamic Exoskeletal Orthosis (IDEO) combined with the Return to Run (RTR) rehabilitation program in individuals with severe lower extremity musculoskeletal injuries. Using the Two-Minute Walk Test (2MWT), 41 individuals were assessed across three treatment phases: without IDEO, with IDEO alone, and with IDEO plus RTR. Results showed statistically and clinically significant improvements in walking distance, increasing from 152 ± 40 m without IDEO to 208 ± 29 m with IDEO and RTR (p < 0.001). Sixty-one percent of subjects achieved age-matched normative walking distances after the combined intervention, demonstrating meaningful functional gains. These findings support the integration of IDEO and RTR as a viable approach for restoring ambulatory capacity, preventing amputation, and improving quality of life in this population.
