Toward Common Ground: Understanding Training Variations in Rehabilitation Healthcare Professions

Interprofessional collaboration and communication is important for members of a healthcare team that are working together to treat a patient. Members of the rehabilitation healthcare team need to understand not only their own roles and responsibilities within their profession, but also the roles of the other members of the healthcare team and where their procedures and resources overlap. This study aims to minimize barriers to interprofessional collaboration by creating a guide that compares specific practices completed by healthcare professionals. The objective is to describe similarities and differences in one helpful resource for all rehabilitation professionals to learn more about the other members of their team, further advance team communication, and elevate patient care.
