Patient education (PE) is essential to clinical outcomes in Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P) because appropriate device use and care depend on patients’ understanding. Although PE is required by accrediting and reimbursement agencies, currently no standardized protocols or evidence-based guidelines in O&P exist. This study describes current PE practices among O&P professionals.
