Ani Benge, MPO, is an Orthotics Resident on the Research Track at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She earned her Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Washington and her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research interests include lower extremity prosthetics, AIS, and the impacts of social determinants of health. She also completed the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Scholars Program, gaining training in interprofessional care, social determinants of health, cultural competency, and community-based work in underserved areas.
Outside of research, Ani is passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration, trauma-informed care, and advancing accessibility within the O&P field. In her free time, she is actively involved in adaptive sports programs, supporting opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to engage in recreation.
