The Academy is excited to bring you a hands-on workshop focusing on the Orthotic Treatment of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis. The session will begin with an overview of current research and best practice guidelines in scoliosis treatment. Learners will then rotate through hands-on stations to apply techniques in scoliosis evaluation, 3D scanning, orthotic design concepts, brace fitting & alignment, troubleshooting scenarios and scoliosis-specific physical therapy. Perspectives from research, Orthopedics, Orthotics, and Physical Therapy will all be presented in this hands-on course. This workshop is geared towards emerging orthotists looking to build a deeper foundation in scoliosis treatment, as well as experienced orthotists seeking to advance and further grow their scoliosis clinical practice.
