Lisa Abernethy, MSPO, CPO/L, is the Associate Program Director of Clinical Education and Assistant Professor in the Baylor College of Medicine’s Prosthetics and Orthotics Master’s degree program. She has experience in a large diverse clinic in the Houston Medical Center where she was cranial team lead and treated a wide variety of pathologies. Her published research and articles include cranial outcomes and media portrayal of characters with limb loss. She is currently the secretary of the Texas Society of O&P Professionals, Co-Chair of the AAOP Craniofacial Society, and a POP Ambassador. She is also active with the Texas Legislative Coalition who recently achieved Senate and House approval of the Bill for Medicaid to cover Cranial Remolding Orthoses.
